6membershipA 6clement Joshua service™Legal & Trust CenterPayments, Taxes, Refunds, Chargebacks and Renewals Policy
Detailed terms governing applications, membership relationships, payment review, benefits, conduct, verification and status.
Understanding this document
This Payments, Taxes, Refunds, Chargebacks and Renewals Policy explains how 6membership prices, receives, verifies, records, refunds and disputes membership payments.
It also explains the relationship between payment and application review, the rules for monthly, yearly and one-time membership options, the handling of failed or duplicate transactions, and the effect of cancellation, denial, expiry and renewal.
6membership is a membership service operated by 6clement Joshua under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, with mandatory local consumer, payment, privacy and statutory rights preserved where they apply.
Except for the private 6clement Joshua consideration process, applicants may be required to pay before substantive application review. Payment allows the application to enter the relevant review process but does not guarantee approval.
6membership has selected Flutterwave as its production payment integration for membership transactions. Flutterwave may provide checkout, payment-method processing, transaction verification, refund, chargeback, settlement and reconciliation services according to the enabled merchant configuration.
This Policy does not replace Flutterwave’s independent terms, dispute processes or legal responsibilities, or those of a bank, card issuer, mobile-money provider or other financial institution.
6membership recognises a payment only after authorised server-side verification confirms the expected transaction reference, amount, currency, status and relationship to the correct application. A browser redirect, screenshot or webhook payload is not accepted blindly as final proof.
A payment is treated as successful only after Flutterwave and the 6membership server-side record verify the expected transaction. Payment does not guarantee membership approval, funding, sponsorship, event admission, personal access, a meeting, travel, accommodation or another requested outcome. An eligible applicant whose paid application is denied will ordinarily receive the applicable full denial refund under this Policy.

Approved members renewing or changing a membership period.
Applicants whose payment is pending, failed, duplicated, reversed, disputed or charged back.
Applicants whose paid application is denied.

Scope and policy framework
How this Policy works with the application, membership and compliance rules.
Subjects covered
This Policy covers displayed prices, taxes, currencies, checkout, payment verification, receipts, failed payments, pending payments, duplicate payments, refunds, chargebacks, renewals, expiry and related financial records.
It applies whether the payer is the applicant, a parent, guardian, household representative, entity representative or another authorised person.
Relationship with the Membership Terms
The Membership Terms and Conditions govern eligibility, application review, approval, denial, membership status, benefits and conduct.
This Policy governs the financial consequences connected with those activities.
Paying a fee does not override an eligibility requirement, predecessor-tier requirement, identity check or lawful application decision.
Flutterwave and financial-institution terms
Flutterwave and the payer’s bank, card issuer, mobile-money provider or other financial institution may apply separate terms concerning authentication, payment-method use, foreign exchange, settlement, reversals, refunds and disputes.
Those separate terms do not remove a mandatory obligation owed directly by 6membership.
This Policy cannot require Flutterwave or another financial institution to perform an action outside its legal, contractual or technical responsibilities.
Mandatory rights preserved
Nothing in this Policy removes a refund, cancellation, chargeback, complaint or other remedy that applicable law makes mandatory.
A checkout description, promotion, discount or membership tier must not be interpreted as creating a blanket exclusion of mandatory consumer rights.
Where this Policy grants a broader refund than applicable law requires, the broader published commitment will ordinarily be honoured subject to fraud, duplicate-reimbursement and lawful-payment controls.
Order of precedence
Where payment documents genuinely conflict, mandatory law applies first.
After mandatory law, a specific written checkout summary or approved membership schedule applies to the transaction it describes, followed by this Policy and then the general Membership Terms.
An unofficial message, social-media statement or payment screenshot does not amend the official payment framework.
Pricing and checkout disclosure
Information that must be presented before an applicant authorises payment.
Current published price
The current price shown for the selected membership tier and period at checkout applies to the transaction, subject to correction of an obvious error before payment is accepted.
A price displayed for Starter, Family, Silver, Black, Platinum, Elite or the 6clement Joshua relationship class applies only to the tier and period identified.
A lower-tier payment cannot be used to activate a higher tier unless an authorised upgrade process expressly permits it.
Checkout summary
Before payment, the applicant should be shown the selected tier, billing period, amount, currency, tax treatment, Flutterwave as the payment integration and the material payment conditions.
The checkout summary should also state that payment does not guarantee approval and should link to the applicable legal policies.
For a one-time option, the exact duration and continuity conditions must be displayed before payment.
Obvious pricing errors
Where a published price is clearly incorrect because of a technical, typographical, currency or configuration error, 6membership may stop the transaction or contact the applicant before accepting the application at that price.
If payment has already been captured for an obvious erroneous price and the transaction cannot lawfully or reasonably be honoured, the payment will be reversed or refunded through the applicable process.
6membership must not label an ordinary price change as an obvious error merely to avoid a completed lawful transaction.
Promotions and discounts
A promotion may apply only to the stated tier, applicant category, location, payment period, quantity or time window.
Material refund or cancellation restrictions connected with a promotion must be disclosed clearly before payment and remain subject to mandatory law.
A promotion cannot be combined with another offer unless the published terms permit combination.
Taxes, currencies and conversion
How taxes and currency differences affect the amount paid or returned.
Applicable taxes
Displayed 6membership prices are intended to include applicable taxes unless the checkout expressly identifies a tax or legally required charge that will be added before payment authorisation.
The applicant should be able to see the final amount charged by 6membership before completing checkout.
A tax invoice or receipt may identify the included tax component where required.
Withholding and business taxes
A business, organisation or other payer responsible for a legally required withholding must notify 6membership before making an adjusted payment.
The payer may be required to provide an official withholding certificate or other evidence.
An applicant must not deduct an amount unilaterally where no lawful withholding obligation applies.
Supported currencies
6membership processes production membership payments through Flutterwave and may display Nigerian naira or another currency enabled for the merchant account and checkout route.
The currencies and payment methods available to a particular payer depend on the active Flutterwave configuration, location, bank, card network and other applicable financial controls.
Display of a currency does not guarantee that every bank, card or payment method will support the transaction.
Foreign-exchange conversion
Where the payer’s account uses a different currency from the checkout currency, the payer’s bank, card network or payment provider may perform conversion.
Its exchange rate, spread, settlement date and conversion charge may differ from an indicative amount displayed by 6membership.
6membership does not control an independent bank or provider’s exchange rate.
Currency differences on refunds
A refund is ordinarily submitted in the original transaction currency and for the amount approved under this Policy.
The amount ultimately credited in the payer’s account currency may differ because of exchange-rate movement or independent bank and provider charges.
6membership will not intentionally reduce the approved membership refund because of currency movement, but it cannot guarantee the receiving institution’s conversion result unless applicable law makes it responsible.
Independent bank and provider fees
A bank, card issuer, mobile-money provider or payment provider may impose an independent transaction, conversion, cross-border or service fee.
Such a fee is not automatically part of the membership price received by 6membership.
Whether an independent fee is refundable depends on the provider’s terms and applicable law.
Payment before application review
Why payment may be required before review and what payment does not establish.
General payment-before-review rule
Except where the selected process expressly states otherwise, a successful and independently verified payment is required before the application enters substantive review.
This rule allows the application, payment and review record to remain connected to one Application Reference.
No guarantee of approval
Payment does not guarantee approval.
An application may still be denied because of eligibility, predecessor membership, identity, age, guardian authority, information quality, compliance, safety, fraud, legal or operational concerns.
Payment also does not guarantee that a proposal, funding request, meeting, invitation or benefit will be accepted.
Application Reference
The transaction should be associated with the correct Application Reference.
The Application Reference confirms that an application record exists but does not represent active membership before approval.
Private 6clement Joshua consideration
The private 6clement Joshua consideration process does not require payment at the initial request stage.
An applicant must not send money merely to submit that private consideration request unless an authorised written onboarding process is later issued.
Any later payment, investment or commercial arrangement requires separate instructions, due diligence and any necessary written agreement.
A request for private 6clement Joshua consideration should not direct an applicant to make an immediate membership payment.
Financial outcome after review
If the paid application is approved, the payment is applied to the approved membership period.
If the paid application is denied, the denial-refund provisions in this Policy apply.
If more information is required, the payment remains associated with the application while the review is pending.
Flutterwave transaction verification and payment status
How 6membership verifies Flutterwave transactions before recognising payment or granting value.
Independent provider verification
6membership verifies a Flutterwave transaction from the server using the authorised transaction-verification interface and the internal payment record.
Before recognising payment or granting application value, the verified status, amount, currency and transaction reference must match the values expected by 6membership.
An authenticated Flutterwave webhook may trigger processing, but the webhook payload should be reconciled with independent transaction verification rather than trusted by itself.
The independently verified Flutterwave record is more reliable than a screenshot, browser message, redirect parameter or unverified bank alert.
Screenshots are not final proof
A payment screenshot, transfer receipt or debit alert may support an investigation but does not by itself prove that funds settled successfully to the correct transaction.
Screenshots can be incomplete, altered, duplicated or associated with another payment.
Possible payment statuses
The 6membership payment record may map the verified Flutterwave and financial-network result into controlled statuses such as created, pending, successful, failed, cancelled, abandoned, reversed, disputed, chargeback pending, refunded, partially refunded or refund failed.
The displayed status may be corrected where a later verified Flutterwave event, transaction lookup, refund result, settlement record or financial-institution outcome changes the transaction state.
Duplicate-event protection
Flutterwave webhook events, browser callbacks and verification attempts may be received more than once because of retries or network delivery.
6membership must process each transaction reference and material provider event idempotently so that the same verified event cannot create duplicate applications, memberships, receipts, refunds, status changes or emails.
Settlement and review delays
A transaction may remain pending while Flutterwave, the payer’s bank or the relevant payment network confirms authentication, settlement, reversal or fraud review.
6membership may delay substantive review or activation until the status is sufficiently reliable.
Manual payment investigation
Where records conflict, 6membership may request the Flutterwave transaction reference, payment date, amount, currency, payer name and limited supporting evidence.
The payer must not send complete card credentials or banking passwords during the investigation.
Webhook authentication and server-only credentials
A Flutterwave webhook must be authenticated using the verification method configured for the active integration before the event is accepted for processing.
Flutterwave secret keys, encryption keys, webhook secrets and other privileged credentials must remain server-only and must not be exposed in browser code, public repositories, screenshots, policy pages or client-side environment variables.
Webhook processing must validate the event, apply duplicate-event protection and record the resulting action without treating delivery of a webhook as automatic proof that the expected payment was received.
The server must independently verify the Flutterwave transaction and compare the expected status, amount, currency and transaction reference before activating review, membership or another paid entitlement.
Failed, pending and duplicate payments
What happens when a transaction does not complete normally.
Failed payment without debit
Where Flutterwave confirms failure and the payer was not debited, no refund is required because no settled membership payment was received.
The applicant may retry through an authorised checkout.
Debit with failed or uncertain checkout
Where the payer was debited but the checkout did not confirm success, the transaction must be investigated using the Flutterwave transaction reference and available financial records.
The debit may be a temporary authorisation, a pending Flutterwave transaction, a successful payment missing from the application record or a transaction that the bank will reverse automatically.
6membership will not create a second payment record merely from the debit claim without appropriate verification.
Pending payment
A pending transaction does not ordinarily activate application review or membership.
The applicant should avoid repeatedly paying while the first transaction remains unresolved unless instructed through an official channel.
Duplicate payment
Where two or more successful transactions were unintentionally made for the same application, tier and period, 6membership will investigate whether one transaction should be refunded.
A payment will not be treated as accidental duplication where the records show that it purchased a separate renewal, upgrade, application or authorised item.
Duplicate-refund prevention
Before refunding a suspected duplicate, 6membership may check whether the transaction has already been reversed, charged back, refunded or applied to another authorised record.
The same payment must not be reimbursed through both a direct refund and a successful chargeback.
Payment associated with the wrong reference
A payer who used an incorrect Application Reference should contact the official applications channel promptly.
6membership may re-associate the transaction only after verifying the payer, amount, provider reference and affected applications.
Re-association must not be used to transfer a payment unlawfully or avoid eligibility requirements.
Approval and membership activation
When a verified payment becomes an active membership payment.
Payment and approval are separate requirements
A successful payment does not by itself activate membership.
Activation ordinarily requires both a verified successful payment and an official application approval.
Additional onboarding conditions may apply to private, entity, high-value or higher-tier relationships.
Membership start date
The membership ordinarily begins on the start date recorded in the official membership record.
The start date may differ from the payment date where application review or onboarding occurs later.
The applicant should not lose paid membership time merely because 6membership required ordinary pre-approval review, unless the checkout expressly and lawfully describes another arrangement.
Application of the payment
After approval, the verified payment is applied to the approved tier and membership period.
The payment cannot be moved automatically to another person, entity or tier.
Alternative-tier approval
Where an applicant does not qualify for the selected tier but may qualify for another tier, 6membership must not automatically apply the payment to that alternative tier without informing the applicant.
The applicant should receive the proposed tier, price treatment and available choice before the change is completed.
Any price difference must be handled transparently through an additional payment, credit or refund as applicable.
Receipt and membership record
A successful approved transaction may generate an electronic receipt or payment confirmation.
The official membership record should identify the approved tier, billing period, start date and expiry date.
Refunds following application denial
The principal refund commitment for paid applications that are not approved.
Full denial refund
An applicant whose application is denied after a successful and verified membership payment will ordinarily be eligible for a full refund of the membership price paid to 6membership for that denied application.
The refund is not reduced merely because 6membership reviewed the application.
This commitment remains subject to verification that the payment settled, has not already been reversed or reimbursed and can lawfully be returned.
No separate hidden review deduction
6membership will not deduct an undisclosed application-review fee from the stated full denial refund.
Where a future non-refundable administrative charge is ever proposed, it must be lawful, reasonable and clearly disclosed as a separate charge before payment rather than being hidden inside the membership price.
Payments that never settled
Where Flutterwave confirms that a transaction failed, expired, was automatically reversed or never settled to 6membership, no separate direct refund may be required.
The payer may need to contact the bank or provider where a temporary debit remains visible.
Already refunded, reversed or charged back
A transaction will not be refunded twice.
Where the original payment has already been reversed, refunded or successfully charged back, the denial-refund obligation is treated as satisfied to the extent of that reimbursement.
Compliance or ownership review
A refund may be delayed where payment ownership is disputed, the transaction is linked to suspected fraud, Flutterwave or another financial institution has restricted the payment, a chargeback is pending or law prevents immediate transfer.
A delay for investigation does not automatically convert an eligible refund into a forfeited payment.
The funds must not be retained contrary to mandatory law merely because the application was suspicious.
Return to the original payment method
A denial refund will ordinarily be returned to the original payment method or provider destination.
The applicant cannot ordinarily redirect the refund to an unrelated card, account, wallet or person.
This protects against money laundering, fraud, payment theft and disputes between the applicant and payer.
Denial and refund communication
The denial communication should explain whether the payment is eligible for refund and whether further verification is required.
6membership must not state that a refund has been initiated merely because an internal administrator approved it.
A refund should be described as submitted or initiated only after Flutterwave has accepted the refund request and returned a verifiable provider response.
Internal approval, provider submission, provider acceptance and final account credit are different stages. Communications must identify the actual stage rather than claiming completion prematurely.
Applicant and member cancellation
How voluntary cancellation differs before review, after approval and after service use.
Submitting a cancellation request
An applicant or member may request cancellation through an authorised channel.
The request should identify the Application Reference or Membership ID and provide enough information to verify the requester’s authority.
Cancellation does not automatically determine the refund outcome.
Cancellation before substantive review
Where a paid applicant cancels before substantive review has begun, 6membership will assess the request under the checkout terms, applicable consumer law, provider status and any service already supplied.
No clause in this Policy should be interpreted as creating a blanket refusal to consider a lawful cancellation refund.
Cancellation during review
Where review has begun but no decision has been issued, the application may be cancelled on request where operationally and legally possible.
Refund eligibility depends on the applicable law, published commitment, payment status and nature of the service.
6membership must not invent an undisclosed penalty after payment.
Cancellation after approval
After membership approval and activation, cancellation may stop future membership use but does not automatically create a full refund for an already supplied or partly used membership period.
Any mandatory cooling-off, cancellation, unperformed-service, misdescription or other consumer right remains preserved.
The extent of any refund may consider the service supplied, time elapsed, benefits used, avoidable costs and applicable law.
No loss of statutory rights
A member will not be required to surrender a mandatory consumer right merely to request cancellation.
6membership may still investigate fraud, benefit abuse, chargeback duplication and unauthorised payment use.
Benefits already consumed
Where a member has already used a time-sensitive, event, travel, accommodation, card-production or other specifically supplied benefit, that use may affect a discretionary or proportionate refund where applicable law permits.
The member will not be charged for a benefit that was merely listed but never supplied or used if the law requires reimbursement.
Service failure, misdescription and material change
Refund and remedy rules where the paid membership service is not supplied properly.
Service not rendered
Where 6membership accepts payment but does not supply the paid membership service and no lawful exception applies, the applicant or member may be entitled to refund or another remedy.
A blanket no-refund statement will not be used to retain payment for a service that was not rendered where applicable law requires reimbursement.
Material misdescription
Where the paid tier was materially misrepresented at checkout, 6membership may offer correction, the properly described service, an appropriate price adjustment, cancellation or refund as required by applicable law.
A minor design, scheduling or operational change that does not materially reduce the paid service does not automatically create a full refund right.
Material reduction of paid service
Where 6membership materially removes or reduces a principal paid feature during an active membership period, it will assess an appropriate remedy.
The remedy may include restoration, replacement access, extension, credit, proportionate refund or cancellation depending on the circumstances and applicable law.
Third-party events and opportunities
Not every event, invitation, proposal or third-party opportunity is itself the paid membership service.
Cancellation of an optional event does not automatically require refund of the entire membership where the wider membership relationship remains available.
Where a separately paid event or benefit is cancelled, its specific booking and refund terms apply subject to mandatory law.
Events outside reasonable control
A delay or temporary interruption caused by infrastructure failure, cyberattack, public emergency, government restriction, natural disaster, civil unrest or another event outside reasonable control may affect service delivery.
6membership will take reasonable steps to restore the service and assess any remedy required by law or the severity and duration of the interruption.
Appropriate remedy
The appropriate remedy depends on whether the service was not supplied, partly supplied, delayed, materially different or capable of correction.
Nothing in this clause restricts a remedy that applicable consumer law makes mandatory.
Refund-request procedure
How refund requests are submitted, verified and decided.
Official request channel
A refund request should be submitted through the official application or administrative email channel.
The request should include the Application Reference or Membership ID, payer name, payment date, amount, currency and Flutterwave transaction or refund reference where available.
The requester should not send banking passwords, card PINs, card security codes or payment OTPs.
Requester authority
6membership may verify whether the requester is the applicant, member, original payer or an authorised representative.
Where the payer and applicant differ, both interests may need to be considered before protected payment information is disclosed.
Supporting evidence
6membership may request the Flutterwave transaction reference, bank evidence showing the relevant debit, denial notice, cancellation request or other information reasonably necessary to investigate.
A screenshot may assist the review but will be checked against Flutterwave and internal server records where possible.
Acknowledgement
An acknowledged refund request may receive a reference or be connected to the existing Application Reference.
Acknowledgement confirms receipt of the request and does not mean that eligibility has already been established.
Refund decision
The decision may approve the full amount, approve a proportionate amount, request more information, explain that the transaction already reversed or deny the request under a lawful ground.
Where a refund is denied or limited, the response should provide an understandable reason to the extent permitted by law and security requirements.
Fraudulent refund requests
Submitting false payment evidence, claiming a payment already reimbursed or attempting to redirect another person’s refund is prohibited.
A suspected fraudulent request may be restricted and investigated without removing a genuine payer’s lawful rights.
Flutterwave refund timing and status
The stages between eligibility confirmation and the final account credit.
Target processing period
For an eligible denial refund, 6membership aims to complete its internal review and submit the approved refund through Flutterwave within up to 10 business days after refund eligibility and the necessary transaction details are confirmed.
This target may be extended where payment ownership, provider restrictions, fraud, sanctions, chargebacks, legal process or required information remains unresolved.
A longer period required by an external bank or provider is not automatically within 6membership’s control.
Business days
For this operational target, a business day ordinarily excludes Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays applicable to the processing operation.
Mandatory legal definitions and timelines apply where they differ.
Internally approved
An internally approved status means that 6membership has authorised the refund subject to submission to Flutterwave.
It does not mean that Flutterwave has accepted or completed the refund.
Submitted to provider
A refund may be described as submitted or initiated only after Flutterwave has accepted the refund request or returned a verified submission confirmation.
The Flutterwave refund or transaction reference should be retained where available.
Completed by Flutterwave
A Flutterwave-completed status means Flutterwave reports that it completed the refund through the applicable payment network.
The payer’s bank or account provider may still require additional time to display the credit.
Failed or rejected refund
A refund may fail because the original destination is closed, restricted, invalid, unavailable or rejected by Flutterwave or another financial institution.
6membership may request updated evidence or work with Flutterwave on a lawful alternative.
An alternative destination must not be used without appropriate verification and compliance review.
Bank posting time
6membership cannot guarantee the exact date on which an independent bank, card issuer or wallet displays the refunded amount.
Where Flutterwave confirms completion but the credit is missing, the payer may be asked to contact the receiving financial institution using the Flutterwave refund or transaction reference.
Refund destination and payment ownership
Why refunds ordinarily return through the original transaction route.
Original payment method
Refunds ordinarily return through Flutterwave to the original card, bank account, wallet or other payment route used for the transaction.
This supports auditability and reduces fraud, laundering and disputes between applicants and payers.
Third-party payer
Where another person paid for the applicant, the refund ordinarily returns to that original payer’s method rather than to the applicant.
The applicant’s denial or cancellation does not automatically authorise redirection of the payer’s money.
Closed or unavailable destination
Where the original payment destination is no longer available, the payer should first work with the bank or Flutterwave to determine how refunds are handled.
An alternative refund route may be considered only after identity, ownership, provider, fraud and legal checks.
No unauthorised cash substitution
A provider-based payment will not ordinarily be replaced with cash, cryptocurrency, gift card or payment to an unrelated person.
An applicant must not request redirection for the purpose of concealing ownership, avoiding a chargeback or converting suspected stolen funds.
Provider and legal restrictions
Flutterwave, another financial institution, a court or lawful authority may restrict or freeze a transaction.
6membership will comply with applicable restrictions while preserving the payer’s rights to the extent permitted.
Chargebacks and payment disputes
How bank or provider disputes interact with direct refund requests and membership status.
Meaning of a chargeback
A chargeback or payment dispute may be processed through Flutterwave, a card issuer, bank or payment network.
It may concern alleged unauthorised use, non-delivery, duplicate processing, incorrect amount or another recognised dispute reason.
6membership does not make the financial institution’s final chargeback decision.
Direct resolution encouraged
A payer is encouraged to contact 6membership first where the issue can reasonably be resolved through payment tracing, correction or refund.
This does not remove a payer’s right to contact a bank, provider or regulator or to observe a dispute deadline.
Pending chargeback and direct refund
Where a chargeback is pending, 6membership may pause a direct refund to prevent duplicate reimbursement.
The payer may be asked to choose or clarify the active remedy where Flutterwave or the relevant financial institution permits.
If the chargeback is withdrawn or rejected and an independent refund remains due, the refund request may continue.
Temporary membership restriction
A membership connected to a disputed or reversed payment may be temporarily restricted while payment validity is investigated.
Restriction is not automatically a finding of fraud.
Where the dispute shows that the membership was fully and lawfully paid, the status should be corrected.
Abusive or fraudulent disputes
A person must not falsely claim that an authorised payment was unauthorised, conceal a completed refund or use a chargeback to retain benefits without payment.
Credible chargeback abuse may result in membership restriction, revocation, evidence preservation, future payment controls or lawful recovery action.
These measures do not prevent a genuine payer from disputing an unauthorised or improperly supplied transaction.
Evidence supplied to providers
6membership may provide Flutterwave or the relevant financial institution with transaction, checkout, policy-acceptance, application, membership, communication and service-delivery evidence reasonably necessary for the dispute.
The disclosure should be limited to information reasonably necessary for the dispute and handled according to applicable privacy law.
Effect of the outcome
A successful chargeback may reverse the relevant payment and may end or restrict the membership funded by that payment.
A rejected chargeback does not automatically prove that every separate consumer complaint lacks merit.
A direct complaint, refund right or legal remedy may still be considered on its own facts.
Renewals and recurring payments
How membership continues after the original monthly or yearly period.
No automatic renewal by default
6membership memberships do not automatically renew by default.
A recurring payment arrangement may be created only where the applicant is clearly informed and expressly authorises that arrangement.
Silence, continued website use or an earlier one-time payment will not by itself authorise automatic renewal.
Manual renewal
Where no authorised recurring arrangement exists, the member must complete a new renewal payment before or after expiry.
A renewal is not complete until the payment is verified and the membership record is updated.
Renewal and expiry reminders
6membership intends to send a reminder approximately six days before expiry and an expiry notice on or around the expiry date.
A reminder is a convenience and does not guarantee delivery.
Failure of an email reminder does not automatically extend the recorded membership period.
Renewal price
A renewal ordinarily uses the current price presented before renewal authorisation unless a valid written price protection applies.
6membership will not charge a changed renewal price through an unauthorised recurring mandate.
Re-verification before renewal
Renewal may require updated identity, contact, representative, compliance or predecessor-membership information.
A restricted, revoked, fraudulent or materially changed membership may be ineligible for ordinary renewal.
Failed renewal payment
A failed or pending renewal payment does not extend membership unless an express grace period applies.
The member may retry through an authorised checkout after confirming that no earlier transaction remains pending.
Cancelling a recurring mandate
Where recurring payment is offered in the future, the member must receive a reasonable method to cancel future renewals.
Cancelling future renewal does not automatically refund the current active period.
The cancellation must be applied before the next charge according to the disclosed processing timetable and mandatory law.
Expiry, grace and restoration
What happens financially when a membership period ends.
End of paid period
A monthly membership ordinarily expires one month after its recorded start date.
A yearly membership ordinarily expires 12 months after its recorded start date.
The exact official expiry timestamp controls where calendar dates or time zones differ.
Membership is not a cash balance
A membership payment is not stored as a withdrawable account balance.
Unused opportunities or benefits do not automatically convert into cash merely because the membership period expires.
This does not remove a refund right for a service that was not supplied where applicable law requires one.
Grace periods
Any grace period must be expressly stated in the membership record, renewal notice or applicable schedule.
A grace period may preserve limited status temporarily without creating a new fully paid period.
Late renewal
A payment made after expiry may create a new period beginning from the restored start date rather than retroactively covering every expired day.
The checkout or renewal confirmation should explain the resulting dates.
Restoration after payment
Expired status may be restored after successful payment and any required re-verification.
Payment does not restore a membership that remains revoked, legally restricted or ineligible.
Effect on predecessor-tier eligibility
An expired Silver, Black, Platinum or Elite membership may no longer satisfy the active predecessor requirement for a higher-tier application.
The required tier may need to be renewed and verified before the higher-tier process continues.
One-time membership payments
Special rules for a substantial upfront payment covering an extended membership arrangement.
Meaning of one-time payment
A one-time option means one upfront payment for the extended membership arrangement expressly described at checkout.
It does not automatically mean perpetual, immortal, irrevocable or exempt from legal, conduct, security and verification rules.
Exact duration must be disclosed
The exact duration, start date, continuity rules and any periodic re-verification requirements must be presented before the applicant authorises a one-time payment.
Where the duration is not clearly shown, the applicant should not be allowed to complete the one-time checkout.
A private internal pricing formula is not a substitute for disclosing the actual membership duration to the payer.
6membership must confirm and publish the final one-time duration schedule before accepting production one-time payments.
Continuing compliance
A one-time payment does not prevent restriction, suspension or revocation for fraud, impersonation, serious misconduct, unlawful use or another valid ground.
It does not guarantee that every programme, event or opportunity will remain unchanged throughout the extended period.
Material long-term changes
Because a one-time arrangement may cover an extended period, material changes to the principal paid relationship require careful consumer, contractual and operational assessment.
Where a principal paid service can no longer be supplied, an appropriate remedy will be assessed according to the circumstances and applicable law.
No automatic transfer or inheritance
A one-time membership remains connected to the approved person, household or entity.
It is not automatically transferable, saleable, inheritable or assignable unless a specific written rule expressly permits it.
Refund assessment
A one-time refund request will be assessed according to the application outcome, service supplied, elapsed period, material failure, misconduct, mandatory law and the specific checkout schedule.
The one-time price must not be used to remove a mandatory remedy.
Fraud, compliance and payment restrictions
Enhanced controls applying to suspicious, high-value or restricted transactions.
High-value payment review
A high-value transaction, including certain one-time or higher-tier payments, may require enhanced identity, payer, authority, source-of-funds and beneficial-ownership review.
The review should be proportionate to the value, applicant category, country, payment route and identified risk.
Source of funds
6membership may request a lawful explanation and evidence concerning the source and ownership of funds where reasonably necessary.
The payer must not use membership payment to conceal criminal proceeds, move money for an unrelated person or create an artificial refund route.
Sanctions and legal restrictions
A transaction may be paused, rejected or restricted where processing would violate an applicable sanction, court order, Flutterwave rule or other legal restriction.
6membership will not promise immediate refund where law or the provider prohibits movement of the funds.
Stolen or unauthorised payment
A membership funded with stolen or unauthorised payment information may be restricted or revoked.
The legitimate payer’s bank or provider dispute process may take priority over a refund request from the applicant who received the benefit.
Evidence preservation
Relevant application, identity, transaction, communication, device and administrative records may be preserved while a fraud, chargeback, authority or compliance matter is investigated.
Preservation does not authorise unrelated use of the information.
No unlawful forfeiture
A compliance investigation does not automatically transfer disputed money to 6membership or create an unlimited right to retain it.
The final treatment must follow the verified Flutterwave and financial-institution outcome, payment ownership, applicable law and any lawful authority instruction.
Records, complaints and policy updates
Financial recordkeeping, privacy, complaint routes and future policy changes.
Payment records
6membership may retain the Flutterwave transaction reference, amount, currency, payment status, payer details, application connection, refund status, chargeback events and administrative actions.
Complete card credentials and banking passwords should not be stored by 6membership.
Refund and renewal records
Refund records may identify the reason, amount, internal approval, Flutterwave submission, Flutterwave acceptance, processing, completion, failure and original payment destination.
Renewal records may identify notices, payment attempts, successful renewals, failures and resulting membership dates.
Retention
Financial records may be retained for accounting, tax, provider disputes, fraud prevention, audits, legal obligations and claims.
Retention periods depend on the record type and applicable law.
Internal payment complaint
A payer or applicant may submit a complaint concerning an incorrect amount, missing payment, duplicate debit, delayed refund, renewal or other financial issue.
The complaint should identify the relevant transaction and explain the disputed outcome.
Provider and bank complaints
A payer may also use Flutterwave’s, the bank’s or the card issuer’s complaint and dispute process.
Using the 6membership process does not remove an applicable right to escalate an unresolved financial-institution complaint to a competent regulator.
Consumer and legal remedies
Nothing in this Policy prevents an applicant or member from contacting an applicable consumer-protection authority, financial regulator, court or other competent body where the law provides that right.
An internal complaint may help resolve the issue but will not be described as the only available remedy where mandatory external rights apply.
Changes to payment terms
6membership may update payment methods, providers, prices, tax treatment, renewal options and operational procedures.
A change will not be used retrospectively to authorise a charge that the payer did not agree to or remove a mandatory right arising from an earlier transaction.
Versioning and effective dates
Material changes will be managed through the Policy Updates, Effective Dates and Change Log.
Where renewed acceptance or payment authorisation is required, the affected person will receive the required notice and choice.
Contact points
Pending payments, incorrect application references, denial refunds and payment verification.
Renewals, expiry, approved-membership billing, card status and payment corrections.
